Garden City Budget News

The four Garden City Property Owners Associations recently authorized the Citizens Budget Review Committee to examine the Village's proposed budget for the 2008 - 2009 fiscal year. Members of the approved Committee are: Gary Kahn, Tom Paisley, Don Pfail, Roy Ryniker, Bob Sundius, Andy Thaler, John Traxler and Tom Trypuc.

Committee members conduct their own analysis on the proposed budget, utilizing financial and operation information provided both by the Village and from outside sources. In addition to the Committee's own work sessions, there are five budget sessions scheduled with Village management and the Board of Trustees. The Committee has an advisory role to the Board of Trustees.

All residents are encouraged to contact Committee members with their thoughts and suggestions concerning the Village budget and are encouraged to attend the budget sessions to be held as follows:

- January 31 -7:00 pm -Village Hall/Board Room

- February 2 -8:30 am -Village Hall/Board Room

- February 14 -7:00 pm -Garden City Library

- February 28 -7:00 pm -Village Hall/Board Room

- March 1 -8:30 am -Village Hall/Board Room
