A Word From The Publisher
It's All In The Numbers

We have to second the Committee To Save St. Paul's hopes that more information will be forthcoming in the upcoming public presentations regarding the AvalonBay-St. Paul's proposal. So far there are many questions out there that need answering. Let us hope that next week's meetings will provide the cold, hard facts that the residents need in order to evaluate the proposal.

Tthe decision as to which course of action to take should be governed by reason and logic with only a little sentiment thrown in. This isn't the economic climate in which it makes sense to "save the building at any cost." Conversely, it makes no sense for the Village to offer huge giveaways in terms of additional development that will negatively impact the surrounding homeowners, or to offer large tax breaks for years to come.

The Board needs a consensus from the people in order to ask for Home Rule Legislation. The only way to get that is to convince people that this is the right project at the right time, and that's only going to happen if all the information is in the hands of the people.
