Interfaith Study On Hunger

On Long Island, 260,000 people turn to soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters to feed themselves and their chil-dren. The Garden City Clergy Fellowship, consisting of the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island, the Presbyterian Church in Garden City, the Garden City Jewish Center, and Christ Episcopal Church, will be hosting an interfaith study to examine what the faith traditions call upon us to do to help those who are hungry and poor. The study series concludes on January 30 by collecting nonperishable food for the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) in Hempstead.

The curriculum is called "Hunger No More," and the study sessions will include a lesson, discussions, and a sharing of ideas. The dates and locations of the study sessions are:

Wednesday, January 9: The Presbyterian Church in Garden City, 91 Chester Avenue; Wednesday, January 16: The Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island, 38 Old Country Road., 741-7304;
