"Services For Seniors: What Am I Entitled To?" Winthrop-University Hospital's "Health Update for Seniors" program will present a free lecture, "Services for Seniors: What Am I Entitled To?" on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. The program begins with the lecture at 1:15 PM, followed by blood pressure checks at 2:45 PM. It will be held the Mineola Community Center, 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola. Many seniors are eligible for various Home Care services and community-based resources that can help them maintain their independence at home. Two healthcare professionals from the Winthrop-University Hospital Home Health Agency, Ellen T. Jordan, RN, Community Liaison and Sheryl Deluty, LCSW, Associate Supervisor, Social Work Services, will discuss a variety of options and eligibility requirements, including home healthcare (even if you have not been hospitalized), transportation services, home heating oil help, emergency response buttons, and other resources.
