Taxi Association Spreads Holiday Cheer

Patients at Winthrop-University Hospital's Hagedorn Pediatric Inpatient Center and Cancer Center for Kids enjoyed an early visit from Santa Claus and special holiday treats thanks to Phil Fortuna, owner of Mineola Checker Cab (fifth from right) and several members of the Long Island Taxi Transportation Operators Association (LITTOA). The group, which frequently visits the Hospital to donate gifts to young patients during the holiday season, delivered three cart-loads of toys and games on December 18 and spent time visiting with children to help make their holidays extra special.
