Between December 30 and 31, two male teens from Garden City were approached by males between the ages of 17 and 20, who said they would shoot them unless they got money. The thieves fled with $80 in U.S .currency The occurrence took place at South Avenue... On December 31, 6:30 PM, three 16-year-old Garden City males were approached by youths near Euston Rd./ Somerset Avenue, with the same description as the latter incident. Three wallets containing cash were taken...A 31-year-old Holbrook man was arrested in Parking Field 8 for the criminal possession of a controlled substance- a D felony, the possession of a gravity knife, and for the criminal possession of amphetamines on December 31...On December 28, police aided Hempstead Police detectives in the arrest of a burglary suspect at Parking Field 9W... PO Hickey arrested a 29-year-old Hicksville woman for alleged DWI (.15%), alleged speeding at 56 in a 30 mph zone, and no registration, at Stewart Avenue, on January 1, 4:35 am...PO Florio arrested a 42-year-old Garden City man near his residence on December 27, 10 pm, for DWI refusal, no insurance, after the motorist left the scene of an auto accident where his car had hit another car near Chestnut Street...PO Bandl arrested a 24-year-old Franklin Square man for allegedly speeding at 72 in a 30, alleged DWI (.11%), DWAI drugs, and for the possession of a controlled substance( Xanax), on December 30, at 3:20am... Police are investigating a larceny at T Mobile, 502 Old Country Rd., where 2 LX cell phones valued at $400 each were taken after security wires were cut... PO Sommer arrested a 48-year-old Hempstead man for the alleged larceny of a $308 Tadashi dress on December 19...On December 31, a 19-year-old Glen Head man was issued an appearance ticket for the violation of the ABC law by having an open bottle of liquor at Seventh Street...

The occupant was taken to Winthrop Hospital...FD removed 4 people who were trapped inside a stalled elevator at 1122 Franklin Avenue on December 29... A leaking gas tank was relocated away from a building at County Seat Drive on the same day...Firemen extinguished a fire that had started on a sidewalk at Sackville Rd. on December 29...A chimney flue was opened completely at a First Street house on December 31, after heavy smoke was reported there...
