Getting Ready To Celebrate Christmas
      The children in the Church School classes of The Cathedral of the Incarnation busily prepared to reenact the story of the birth of Jesus. They rehearsed and tried on costumes and rehearsed some more until they were ready for the big performance. Charles Janoff was the able and brave volunteer who directed the cast of many children.

      Thomas Mage, a Garden City Middle School eighth grader and a participant in the New York State Excelsior Scholars Program at Adelphi University, had the opportunity to meet Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy.

Homestead First Graders Shine At Holiday Winter Pageant
      Approximately 120 six and seven year olds played starring roles in last week's First Grade Winter Festival at the Garden City Homestead Primary School, where - under the choreography of Music Director Katie Riker - they enthralled their "Standing Room Only" audience with an outstanding performance of holiday songs and verse.

Garden City High School Honor Rolls
      Below are the Garden City High School honor rolls for the first quarter. Students who achieve an unweighted grade point average of 91 and above are awarded Principal's Honors. Students who achieve an unweighted grade point average between 87 and 90.99 are awarded First Honors. Students who achieve an unweighted grade point average between 83 and 86.99 are awarded Second Honors.

Stewart School Dance Club
      The Stewart School has dance fever! Beginning in October, fourth and fifth grade students have been a part of the Dance Club. This club is an opportunity for students to develop self-esteem and learn the rhythm and steps of a specific type of dance. Currently, they are working on the salsa. Students dance on their own and with partners, which vary from week to week.

      In an effort to increase contact between students and colleges, Garden City High School's Guidance Department invited 150 college representatives to attend one of four in-school college mini-fairs held during the month of October.
