Teens Learn Babysitting Skills At The Library
2008-12-26 / Community
Young adults who participated in the December two-part babysitting workshop at the Garden City Library are pictured with the dolls and stuffed animals they used to practice the first aid and child care techniques taught at the first session of the workshop. Two neonatal nurses from Winthrop University Hospital discussed the care of infants and small children with the young adults. The second session conducted by a representative from the Police Department addressed safety issues for babysitters. Plans have been made to hold the final meetings of this program for this school year on March 30th and 31st. These classes will have a start time of 6:30 PM to accommodate those students who are busy after school.
