Stratford Food Drive Donates To Salvation Army
Organized by Student Council members, this year's Thanksgiving Food Drive filled the entrance hall of the Stratford School with boxes and boxes of food donations for local families in need. During the second grade's Thanksgiving program for parents and friends on November 26th, Salvation Army representative Major Paul Moore thanked the students and parents for their generous donations and presented Principal Diane Hopkins with a certificate of acknowledgement for their efforts. "We greatly appreciate the kindness of the Stratford School community's annual food drive," commented Major Moore, "especially this year with the difficult economy. We have more people than usual in need and this food will be a tremendous help in reaching over 300 families that we assist for the holidays."
Principal Hopkins agreed, "We have much to be thankful for. On behalf of the Stratford School community, I wish all of you and your families a peaceful and joyous Thanksgiving."
