On Tuesday, November 25, Buckley Country Day School students and teachers delivered 115 boxes of food for Thanksgiving dinners to the families who currently reside in two different shelters in Jamaica, Queens. Students along with their families contributed the turkeys and groceries for the boxes that the students then decorated and filled for delivery.

For the past eight years, Buckley has reached out to others in this gesture of generosity. This community service project has become an annual tradition, a wonderful example of kindness, which started with the donation of one basket per grade and has grown significantly.

In addition, for the first time, the Buckley Student Council organized a Pie Fund Raiser, intending to donate 70% of their profit to the shelters, while keeping 30% for school events. Instead, they decided to donate all the proceeds to the shelters, making this holiday even more special.

Celebrating Thanksgiving is not only a perfect time to share with family and be thankful, but also a time to think about those who would appreciate a caring hand. Thank you, Buckley!
