The following students from Garden City have enrolled as first-year students at Amherst College in Amherst, Mass:

• Alexander W. Fox , son of Mrs. Rosemary Fox and Mr. Thomas E. Fox, is a graduate of Chaminade High School in Mineola.

• Meaghan M. Tigh , daughter of Mr. Craig M. Tigh and Ms. Jeanellen C. Tigh is a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead.

These students are among 438 new students entering the independent liberal arts college in western New England this fall.
