ON DECEMBER 15, a man took $40 worth of Tylenol and ran from the Kings, Franklin Avenue, store...ON DECEMBER 9, 6 p.m., police arrested a 25-year-old Saudi Arabia man who allegedly took a Classic Elements shirt, perfume, 2 bracelets, a pair of earrings and J LO glow perfume at Sears...A $250 TOM TOM, a $230 Coach purse, and $60 U.S., were stolen from an unlocked car at Meadow Street on December 11...On December 15, at 6 p.m., credit cards and $300 U.S. were taken from a purse in a fitting room at Lord and Taylor, Franklin Avenue...BURGLARS ENTERED AN unlocked basement at a Nassau Blvd. residence between December 14 and 16, and took a $3,000 AT&T module, an ISP water valve valued at $1500, a $500 water meter, and a circular saw and tools valued at over $2300...On December 16, an $800 Dell laptop was taken from an unlocked office at Harvey Hall, Adelphi University...PO Reynolds arrested a 43-year-old Amityville woman at Sears on December 15, 7 p.m., for her alleged theft of a Structure coat, tee shirt, shoes, leggings, shirt and handbag there; value of $147...BETWEEN DECEMBER 11 and 12, someone took golf carts with "Adelphi University" written on the side of them at the Adelphi campus. Two were recovered and one is still missing...ON DECEMBER 12, afternoon, someone stole a 2003 Lexus parked at Nassau County Field 14. Value was $10,000... ALSO THAT DAY, PO Matos arrested a 35-year-old Jamaica man for identity theft after the man purchased 2 items (at Lord and Taylor) using a fraudulent card he had obtained through using fake ID in Stamford Connecticut... ON DECEMBER 14, PO Lamardo arrested a 54-year-old Elmont man for allegedly stealing over $800 in items at Lord and Taylor, which included 3 Christopher Rako ornaments, men's gloves, an Alex Cannon sweater, Lucky jeans, intimates, 2 lip sets and sleepwear...PO FLORIO arrested a 22-year-old Valley Stream woman for alleged DWI (.17%), and allegedly speeding at 50 in a 30, at Franklin Avenue/ Fifth Street, on December 14...ON DECEMBER 11, detectives Rothermel and Madden, arrested a 17-year-old Hempstead male and a 20-year-old Roosevelt male for the alleged attempted burglary at Meadow Street on September 5, the burglary at Meadow Street on September 5, and the burglary on Lindbergh Street on September 3... BETWEEN DECEMBER 10 and 11, someone stole a Pioneer GPS valued at $300 from a car parked at Franklin Court...

ON DECEMBER 12, water leaking into a battery caused light smoke in a basement at a Kenwood Rd. house...On the same day, FD shut down a burner at Roosevelt St... A BUZZER FOR maid service making noise in a wall needed to be disconnected at a Hampton Rd. house on December 12...FIREMEN REMOVED insulation near a fireplace at a Third Street house on December 14...A HOUSE FIRE occurred at a Carteret Place house on December 14. Firemen extinguished the 2 fires; one was on a rear patio and the other in a first floor dining room. Evidently, candles that had been placed on a mantel of a fireplace ignited a Christmas wreath and wallpaper nearby, and the fire extended to the ceiling as well as rugs. The rugs were placed outside and a fire started there on a patio... FIREMEN AIDED 5 people involved in a single car accident at Clinton Rd. on December 15...
