Chaminade JV Football Wins Championship
      Chaminade Junior Varsity Football Team avenged their only loss of the season to Monsignor Farrell by defeating them on their home turf in Staten Island to claim the NY Metropolitan-CHSFL Championship. The win also snapped a 20 game home winning streak for Farrell.

Winter Track Kicks Off
      The winter track season got underway this weekend with the Nassau County Coaches Invitational being run at the Armory in upper Manhattan. The Garden City varsity girls showcased much of their young talent throughout the night.

Travel Basketball Teams Play At Hofstra
      Coaches Tom Granville and Dan Dignam took their 3rd grade travel teams to Hofstra for the Hofstra home opener last monday night. The 22 boys enjoyed the action then played on the court at half time to the delight of the crowd. It was a fun day for the boys.

Garden City Basketball NO LATE FEES !
      Visit www.gardencitybasketball.org to register online. Our $50 fee remains the same. Our organization doesn't believe in charging a late fee. Garden City Basketball will continue to accept late registrations and we will always work to accommodate these participants. The regular intramural game day season started Saturday, December 6th and runs through March 2009.

Danish Students Share Athletic And Cultural Exchange
      During the upcoming basketball season Garden City's teams will face familiar schools like Lynbrook, Bethpage, Manhasset and South Side. This year, the GC teams kicked off their season with three scrimmages against Hjemly on December 6th.

Village Sports
      preschool arts and crafts begins The Recreation Department will begin its first session of Preschool Arts and Crafts the week of January 5th. This six week program is held at St. Paul's Cluett Hall and is open to children ages 3 1/2 to 5 years old who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City.

GCAA Travel Basketball Update
      This week finds most of our teams in the top half of their respective divisions in the highly competitive Island Garde Super League. Here's the latest highlights: HAYDEN 6TH GIRLS got their first win by beating Plainview behind the strong offensive play of Lindsey DeMars and the tenacious defense of Antonia Palmeri... TULLY 7TH BOYS won a close game over Half Hollow Hills 35-32.

Buckley Boys' 7th And 8th Grade "A" Team Boasts Undefeated Soccer Season
      Buckley's seventh and eighth grade boys' "A" soccer team had an exciting and successful year, posting a 7-0-2 record and outscoring their opponents 28 to 14. The season proved to be both a challenge and learning experience for each team member. The boys continuously exhibited the motivation and the will to reach individual as well as team goals.

GCAA Basketball Intramurals Off To Great Start
      GCAA now has over 1,070 kids in their basketball program, including 792 kids playing GCAA intramurals in St. Paul's on Saturdays. All the teams, coaches and schedules are posted on the GCAA website, www.gc-aa.com. Players in grades 2nd through 8th should have been notified of team placement by now with the exception of players in K-1 and the Boys 7-8.

GC Rams Girl's Lacrosse Late Registration
      The late registration deadline goes into effect December 14th. Applications received after that date will be subject to the late fee registration. Applications will be accepted on Sunday, December 14th from 2 to 4 pm at St. Paul's. GC Rams Girl's Lacrosse is open to all girls in grades 3 to 8 who resided in the Village of Garden City or go to school within the village.
