What's Up For Young Adults At The Library ITALIC CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP
An Italic Calligraphy Workshop was held on Wednesday, December 10th . Young adults learned the techniques of calligraphy to be able to create beautiful, original holiday cards. Novices learned basic techniques while those with some experience improved their skills. Each participant took home the pens used at the workshop.
BABYSITTING WORKSHOP
YAs who attended both sessions of the Babysitting Workshop in October were awarded certificates of completion. The First Aid/ Child Care Session and the Safety Session were well attended and 29 certificates were earned. Additional dates have been scheduled for the Safety Session on December 16th, from 3:45-5:15 PM, where the focus is on how to keep the children and the babysitter out of harm's way and how to deal with any unavoidable accident or incident. The First Aid/Child Care session will be held the following day on December 17th . Both sessions have filled with those on the original wait list and those who have recently expressed interest. Anyone unable to attend in December is asked to let Mrs. Kelly know so that a new wait list can be completed. Plans have been made to hold the final meetings of this program for this school year on March 30th and 31st. These classes will have a start time of 6:30 PM to accommodate those students busy after school. Participants are asked to bring a doll, Cabbage Patch size, to practice techniques of holding, feeding, diapering and administering first aid under the guidance of the instructors to the December 17th meeting.
