The Garden City Retired Men's Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City Community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political.

All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City, in the state of New York are eligible for membership upon paying a five (5) dollar initiation fee. If you are eligible and interested to join us, please come by. Every Monday is Open House. Or call Joe Leto at 248-9022.

The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers two regulation size pool tables, television, cards/table board games as well as outdoor bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Our Program Committee is planning a very active speaker program. Come join us!

Speaker Program - Long Range

Monday, January 26th , Ms. Eileen Beetar, a staff member of AAA will kick off our 2009 speaker program. She will advise us how best to cope with winter driving with special emphasis on motorist and pedestrian safety. The prediction of severe winter weather to come makes this a subject you cannot afford to miss.

Chess Is An Option

Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. seems to be working well for the chess group. Interested? Stop by for a short brush-up course by Walter Tomitz, and play a game or two. Calling All Poker Players

The Monday poker session is under way. A small group is enjoying a few hours of friendly poker. If you have an interest to spend a pleasant afternoon with a congenial bunch of poker players, we have a game waiting for you. A poker table will be set up on Monday for your playing pleasure. Luncheon Is Here

Next Wednesday, December 17th is the date. Cherry Valley Country Club is the place. Make plans to arrive at 12:00 noon. Hot hors d'oeuvres will be served from 12:15 to 12:45, followed by a mixed green salad, then your choice of chicken marsala, salmon or prime organic sirloin. Each of the entrées will be served with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Dessert of warm apple crisp and coffee/tea will top off this exquisite luncheon. Dress code is jacket with collared shirt, tie optional. Male guests are invited. The price is the same, $45 per person, for you and your guest. The reservation book is open.
