Professor Muller and Rudy Kaiser talked about the history of the shipping industry, while Walter Janowski and John Phillipedes listened. Professor Gerhardt Muller, a Garden City resident and professor at the US Merchant Marine Academy, once again played host to a group from the Garden City Retired Men's Club on Wednesday, November 12 th. After a fascinating trip through the history and projected future of the shipping industry, the group enjoyed a delicious lunch in the USMM Academy Officers Club. On January 1, Professor Muller will end his many years of service to the academy to begin a new life as a professor at Columbia University.
