BETWEEN OCTOBER 24 and December 2, a 2005 Nissan Maxima valued at $16,000, was stolen from Main Street... BETWEEN DECEMBER 2 and 3 , someone damaged a school tractor at the GC H.S...$25 Was Taken from an unlocked car at Fourth Street between December 8 and 9... A GARMIN GPS valued at $500 was stolen between December 2 and 3... PO Oswald arrested a 23-year-old Westbury man for alleged DWAI (.07%), unlicensed operation, obstructed view, a muffler violation, and lane violation at Franklin Avenue, on December 6, at 3:30 a.m... ON DECEMBER 4, an $800 Dell laptop computer was taken from an unoccupied office at Adelphi University... A 41-YEAR-OLD Hagerstown, Maryland man was arrested for alleged DWI (.08%), the failure to maintain a lane, an excess of speed on wet pavement, and having an open container of alcohol, at Franklin Avenue and Thirteenth Street, on December 7... FIRE RESPONSES:
ON DECEMBER 4 , hair spray triggered a smoke alarm at Adelphi University... A BURNT MUFFIN activated an alarm at a Seventh Street location on the same day... THREE STUDENTS at the GC H. S. complained of feeling ill at a school function in the cafeteria on December 5, and the FD metered the area with no signs of anything but high temperatures that may have caused discomfort there... AN ODOR OF NATURAL GAS occurred at a Willow Street house on December 6. A burner had gone out on a stove top and the owner had left the house... FIREMEN FOUND A shopping cart filled with tree limbs and other wood debris on fire at Seventh Street on December 7, and 2 1/2 gallons of water in a can extinguished the fire... An overheated motor in a dryer caused an odor in a basement at Wood Oak Place on December 8... ON THE SAME DAY , natural ventilation was used to clear a small amount of carbon dioxide in a basement at Terrace Park...
