Dennis Donnelly and Brian Daughney, the presidents of the Eastern and Estates POAs, respectively, issued a joint statement: "We want to thank everyone involved, especially the Survey Committee co-chairs, Kathleen Auro and Walter McKenna, and the other members of the committee and the volunteers, for making the survey a success. Our mission was to get resident input, and the number of residents who came out and participated was certainly very gratifying.
"There were many over the last several months who questioned our efforts and who tried again and again to stop the poll from being held. We believe the magnitude of the turnout validated our efforts. We are proud that the Estates and Eastern POAs could get 5,000 Village residents to come out to express their opinion and the fact we were able to do so without assistance from the two other POAs who declined to participate is a testament to our belief that residents wanted to express an opinion and deserved a venue to do so."
As of press time, Donnelly and Daughney planned to officially release the information at the Dec. 4th Village Board of Trustees meeting and request that the results be placed on the Village Web site.
