"Biggest Loser" Contest

Irene Koundourakis (Director of The Miracle Foundation), Jeff Griggs (Owner of Personal Training Studio), Ralph Loverde (winner of The Biggest Loser contest), and Patti Tenaglia (Co-founder of The Miracle Foundation) From July 1st through September 30th, thirty-five men and women took part in a "Biggest Loser" weight loss competition at Personal Training Studio in Garden City. All contestants paid a $20 entry fee and in doing so, there was $700 donated to The Miracle Foundation whose goal is improving cancer patient care, increasing cancer awareness and funding worthy scientific research.

Garden City resident Ralph Loverde was the winner of the first ever "Biggest Loser contest. Ralph did an outstanding job. With the help of his trainer he was able to lose 21 lbs. which was 10.2% of his bodyweight. The first place prize was a free quarter at Personal Training Studio (a value of $975). Personal Training Studio will continue to hold "Biggest Loser" contests in order to raise money for local charities. The next contest will begin in January '09. Call 516-739-3534 for information.
