Caroline Tarzian, Charlotte Boliver & Tara Mahon The Trojans avenged their 2007 state final loss by defeating Rondout Valley 2-1 in the Class B state championship game on November 15, 2008. Garden City led at half-time on a goal from Caroline McTiernan at the 11:46 mark assisted by Lauren Terracciano. Rondout Valley came out strong in the 2nd half eventually tying the game 1-1 with just 6:40 remaining. Eleni Andromidas then ripped a penalty stroke into the upper left corner of the cage with 4:20 remaining to regain the led for Garden City and she sealed the win with a penalty corner goal two minutes later. In the state semi-final, Garden City beat Vernon-Vestal-Sherrill 4-0 with forwards Caroline McTiernan and Eleni Andromidas each scoring a pair of goals with assists from Mariah Pewarski (2), Caroline McTiernan and Gabby Garcia. The Trojans finished the season 21-0 winning their third state title in four years. The offense scored 105 goals while the stingy defense allowed just 4 goals.
