The game against East Meadow ending in a 3-3 tie was played on a sloppy pitch, which no doubt left both teams frustrated as it was very difficult to control the ball, as well as keep their feet. Once again, Owen Fisher played well in goal, while the rest of the boys gave all they had. The Warriors regrouped against Lake Grove, which, like East Meadow, worked hard for every ball, and matched the boys play for play to come away with a 1-1 tie. Some timely saves and stellar play through the mid-field, as well as a nicely converted penalty shot in the second half, allowed the Warriors to gain a point to give them sole possession of third place of the Third Division of the combined Nassau/Suffolk Long Island Junior Soccer League. The boys can be very proud of their Second place finish of the Covanta Cup in August and their First Place finish at the Windsor Tournament over Columbus Day weekend, and can look forward to the Semi-Finals in the State Cup in May, 2009. On three, Go Warriors!
