The Cyclones' racked up an equally impressive goal differential over the ten games as the team scored 29 goals for versus allowing only 9 goals against. Combined with the team's undefeated 7-0-2 record in the spring, the Cyclones are now 15-0-4 overall in its first two seasons in the SSI. This fall the Cyclones traveled to central Suffolk County to play teams from Elwood, Mt. Sinai, Patchogue, Hauppauge and Farmingdale where they were able to earn wins in all five road games. The Cyclones finished out their fall season this past Sunday at home playing to a 2-2 draw against a tough Elwood team, which it had beaten earlier in the season by the score of 3-1. The Cyclones players' have consistently shown a lot of heart, a lot of hustle and the ability to work really well together as a team to earn great success on the field as well as enjoy their time together off the field. Players, coaches, parents and the support of the Centennial Soccer Club have all come together to make this first-ever GC-based SSI team a fun filled and successful experience. The team plans to again play in the Spring 2009 season and welcomes all high school aged girls that cannot otherwise play in the Centennial Club's intramural Division 5 -- registration info. can be found on the Centennial Club website at gccentennialsoccer.org.

SSI, based in Suffolk County, is the largest intramural Interleague soccer program on Long Island with over 47 clubs and 350 teams playing full spring and fall schedules of competitive friendly intramural soccer matches. The Centennial Club formed this new Interleague team as an extension of the intramural program in order to allow high school aged players to continue to play soccer at the age appropriate competitive level, without the commitment level of the Travel program.
