Garden City resident Raymond Fitzpatrick , a sophomore at SUNY Oneonta, was a member of the 2008 Oneonta State men's soccer team. The Red Dragons finished the season 10-7-2 overall. The Garden City Power U-12 Girls Travel Soccer team finished their season strong. On the weekend of November 8th they played Bethpage Thunder and put another game in ther win column. The Power beat the Thunder 4-2. The Power had an amazing and productive season overall finishing in third place. The first, second and third place teams in their division were actually very close. More ... The Garden City U10 Panthers finished up the fall season with an 8-2 record. The team really started playing great ball toward the end of the season. Veterans Kyle Quinn, TJ Michielini, and Joe Philippas continued their great all around play. Tony Loiodici was on the IR for the second half of the season but played great defense in both the outfield and infield. More ... On Friday, October 31st, the Waldorf School's Boys Varsity Soccer Team defeated The Portledge School by a score of 2-1 to win the Independent Private and Parochial Schools Athletic League (IPPSAL) Division I Championship. The GC Cyclones (G-U17) completed its second consecutive undefeated season in the Suffolk Soccer Interleague (SSI) with an impressive 8-0-2 overall record. The Cyclones' racked up an equally impressive goal differential over the ten games as the team scored 29 goals for versus allowing only 9 goals against. More ... The Andy Foundation is participating in this popular event and donating a majority of the proceeds to The Anchor Program. The Trojans, down 17-0 in the 3rd quarter, staged an incredible comeback but was not able to finish and lost 17-16. It was a blustery and cold fall afternoon at Allen Park in Farmingdale where the Garden City Thunder was preparing to play the Inwood Buccaneers in a 2nd round playoff game. The Thunder won the coin toss but could not move the ball very far in our first possession but that would not continue for very long. More ... The U-12 GC Warriors finished out a good fall season with a couple of ties, first against East Meadow Strikers on 11/8 and the Lake Grove Cobras on 11/9. The game against East Meadow ending in a 3-3 tie was played on a sloppy pitch, which no doubt left both teams frustrated as it was very difficult to control the ball, as well as keep their feet.
