Cathedral Collects 2009 Calendars

2008-11-21 / Community

Once again the Cathedral of the Incarnation will be collecting calendars for The Seamen's Church Institute. Please do not throw out any extra calendars you might receive as promotions or advertisements or gifts. Put them to a wonderful use by bringing them to the Cathedral of the Incarnation and placing them in the box in the narthex or to the Cathedral Office in the Cathedral House. The calendars will be brought to the Seamen's Church Institute and in turn will be distributed to mariners who spend a great deal of time at sea.

In the spirit of the Christmas holiday, this is an easy gift to give and does not require any money but rather caring and thoughtfulness. The Seamen's Church Institute advocates for the personal, professional, and spiritual well being of merchant mariners around the world. The Institute promotes safety, dignity, and improved working and living conditions for millions of men and women serving in the maritime workplace. Founded in 1834, the Institute is a voluntary, ecumenical agency affiliated with the Episcopal Church. For further information about the calendar collection, call the Cathedral Office at 746-2955 or visit the church's website at www.incarnationgc.org.
