WPOA Trustee Applicants; Resident St. Paul's Survey
The Western Property Owners Association (WPOA) alerts Western residents to two important issues-the selection of a candidate for trustee from the West and AvalonBay's plan for development of Village property at the St. Paul's complex.
The WPOA seeks applicants for the position of Village Trustee, a two-year term that begins in April 2009. Any resident of the Western Section of the Village who is interested is urged to submit a letter of interest and a resume to: Mr. Tom Whalen, WPOA Secretary, 41 Dartmouth Street, Garden City, NY 11530. The deadline for submission of applications is Monday, November 24. Following interviews with applicants, the Nominating Committee will make its recommendation for trustee at the January general meeting of the WPOA.
In addition, the WPOA Board reminds all adult residents of the Western Section to send in the St. Paul's Survey reply form, which was included in the November meeting notice. The survey contains one question; please answer "yes" or "no": Should the Village pursue a Development Agreement with AvalonBay for the restoration and redevelopment of the St. Paul's Main Building generally consistent with the proposal as described in the recent report of the Mayor's committee?
On the WPOA website homepage, www.gcwpoa.com, Western residents can read the current position of the WPOA Board of Directors. Residents who would prefer to register their vote by email to the WPOA Secretary, please click on the website link, AvalonBay "yes" or "no", and remember to include your name and address in your email response. All survey responses are due by December 1. [Residents can view the Mayor's committee report on the Village website, www.gardencityny.net.]
