Garden City Senior News
The Garden City Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs, Winthrop Hospital, and Nassau University Medical Center, is sponsoring a Senior Citizen Flu Immunization Day on Tuesday, December 9th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Garden City Senior Center on Golf Club Lane. This program is open to any Senior aged 60 or older who is a resident of the Incorporated Village of Garden City.
There is no out of pocket cost for this program, but you will need to bring your Medicare number and the name of HMO or private insurance company with you that day.
Preregistration is necessary and appointments may be made by calling the Recreation Administrative Offices (108 Rockaway Ave.) The Recreation Department will be taking calls after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5. The numbers to call are 465-4075, 465-4072, or 465-4076.
Pneumonia vaccines will also be available to those needing.
Senior walking program
Seniors! Come join us and have a nice chat while we walk for at least 30 minutes! This free program will meet at Cluett Hall at 2:15 p.m. every Tuesday beginning November 18th. Felicia will moderate and we will walk rain or shine! Dress for the elements but if it rains or is too cold, we will walk indoors. No registration is needed- come and join us!

There are still seven spots available for the Recreation Department's trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art!
On Tuesday, December 2nd, the Recreation Department will take a trip to see the holiday decorations at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan through Prime Time Travel.
Enjoy the Choirs of Angels Tour as well as free time to explore this beautiful museum! An added attraction will be the museum's magnificant annual Christmas Tree and the Neapolitan Baroque Creche. A Prime Time Coach bus will take us in and bring us home. Lunch will be "on your own." Please note- all reservations for this trip will be $59. Due to time constraints, the full cost of this trip is due at the time of registration. Please make all checks payable to "Prime Time Travel." philadelphia flower show
On Wednesday, March 4th, the Recreation Department will sponsor a trip through Prime Time Travel to the Philadelphia Flower Show (cost $74)
This special one day trip to one of the Nation's premier floral shows will feature the special theme of "Bella Italia." Walk around the spectacular gardens and sit in on workshops to get ideas for the upcoming spring season. Lunch will be "on your own." The cost of this trip will be $74.

take an "nypd" tour of new york city
On Tuesday, April 28th, the Recreation Department will sponsor an "NYPD" Tour of NYC through Prime Time Travel.
With a retired NYPD police officer as our tour guide, we will explore New York City on a motorcoach as he shares his knowledge and experience as one of New York's finest. After our tour, we will go to Little Italy to enjoy lunch at SPQR.

the intrepid is back in new york city
The Intrepid has returned to New York. On Wednesday, May 13th, come with the Recreation Department as we tour this amazing vessel. Discover areas never seen before. Visit the Museum, the top secret Growler submarine, and the SST Concorde.
We will travel by coach bus with Prime Time Travel. We will tour the Intrepid. After our visit, we will be enjoying lunch at the Heartland Chophouse. The cost of this trip will be $95. Preregistration is necessary for this trip and a $30 deposit made payable to "Prime Time Travel" is needed to secure and reservation.

st. paul's senior center fall hours
One of the best comradeship and fun experiences with fellow seniors is at St. Paul's Senior Center! We are located in the cottages at St. Paul's Recreation Complex and are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for any person aged 60 or above who is a resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City.
We have games, speakers, song groups, trips, and lots of fun and comradeship.
