Ed LaMarr, Dan Bautch, Phil Seskin and organizer John Sorensen (L-R) kick-off the skills clinic on a great day for baseball. On Sunday, October 12th, Garden City Community Park was the site of a special baseball skills clinic for kids in the GCAA travel baseball program. The program was fortunate to have the return of special instructors Ed LaMarr (St. John's / Pitching), Dan Bautch (Notre Dame / Outfield) and Phil Seskin (Adelphi / Catching). All three provided a number of specialized drills that are designed to improve pitching, outfield and catching mechanics; ones that are used on the college and professional levels. As important, the kids learned about some of the mental aspects of playing each position and how to be better prepared for specific game situations.

It is exciting to see the enthusiasm of Garden City's up and coming baseball stars. Having fun and learning more about our national pastime proved to be a winning combination on a great day at the Park.
