This past weekend was just right for the 23rd Annual Paul R. Cody Columbus Day Tournament in Windsor, CT. It was a perfect fall weekend to spend in New England. Congratulations to the Garden City Flames for winning Second Place. The Flames played against the Windsor Rage, the Suffield Wildcats, Farmington Celtic, the Windsor Locks Locks and our very own Garden City Destroyers. Each game brought with it a different level of excitement. The Flames have really come together and this weekend, they were able to strengthen their bonds both on and off the field. The players have learned a lot this season and after winning 4 out of 5 games in Windsor, they look forward to coming home and continue with their winning season! The Flames players and their families would all agree it was a successful weekend, with great soccer and lots of fun! Thanks to Coaches Tom Trimmer, Russ Josephs, John Hammersley and Tom Sproat for your hard work and for passing on to the boys a love of the sport! This Saturday at 1pm, the Flames play the New Hyde Park Lions at Soccer Park.
