Masquers To Present Rumors
      On November 7th and 8th, the GCHS' Masquers Theatre Group will present the hilarious Rumors by Neil Simon. Making its Broadway debut in the late 1980s, Rumors, a farce, is a comedy of errors where misunderstandings and physical injuries abound! Neil Simon is a master at highlighting the ironies and absurdities of the world around him and this show provides plenty of silliness!

Students Remember 9-11 With Acts of Kindness
      Each Garden City Public School marked the seventh anniversary of 9-11 as deemed age appropriate for students by teachers and building administration. At Garden City Middle School, for example, students discussed the anniversary during Home Base, a daily meeting time for students.

GCHS Students Attend National Issues Forum
      Garden City High School juniors and seniors from Dr. Mark Quigley's AP Government class and from Ms. Jeanette Balantic's Regents U.S. History class were among 200 students who recently participated in Hofstra University's "Educate 08" National Issues Forum, a full day of panel discussions and interactive groups deliberating topical national and international issues.

Back To School Cocktail Party At St. Joseph School
      The summer heat lingered at the fall-themed back to school cocktail party hosted by new PTA Co-presidents Camille Darling and Denise Teixeira. The teachers and parents took the opportunity to come together for an informal night of fun as the school year got under way. The night was a success, as the party lingered on long after clean-up!

Annual Fall Fair At The Waldorf School
      Once a year, the Waldorf School of Garden City fills with the smell of hot-from-the-oven breads and the feel of an old-fashioned autumn harvest. On Saturday, October 25th from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M, the school opens its doors to celebrate its 28th annual Fall Fair.

Waldorf School Announces Library Grand Opening
      The Waldorf School of Garden City is proud to announce the dedication of its newly renovated library, renamed The Miller Library, in honor of alumni parent and former Trustee, John Miller, and former faculty member and current Trustee, Kristin Miller. The dedication ceremony took place on Thursday, October 2nd at the Waldorf School's annual Benefactors Reception.

Named National Merit Semifinalist
      Sarah Justvig, a senior at Sacred Heart Academy, has added to her long list of academic accomplishments by being named a semifinalist in the 54th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. From a pool of over 1.5 million high school seniors who took the PSAT in the fall of their junior year, Sarah is one of only 16,000 students nationwide who qualified for semifinalist status.
