Adelphi University Dancers will perform in "Ruth St. Denis: In Search of a Goddess," on Saturday night. Adelphi University is proud to present "Ruth St. Denis: In Search of a Goddess," a gala evening on Saturday, October 18 at 8 p.m. to honor the life and work of the distinguished dance legend and founder of the Adelphi University Dance Department. It is expected to be a dramatic evening of dance focusing on the visionary American modern dancer Ruth St. Denis. This visual feast is written by Fran Kirmser with choreography and performances by Dalia Carella, direction by Jon Cantor and will feature Adelphi's dance department dancers.

In addition to the dance gala, Adelphi is also hosting an exhibit featuring holdings from Adelphi University Archives and Special Collections, including a number of promotional flyers, posters, and pamphlets as well as signed copies of several limited edition books and a typed manuscript of St. Denis' autobiography An Unfinished Life with revisions and editor's comments in the margins. The exhibition is on display at the University Center Gallery in the Ruth S. Harley University Center.

$35 Gala tickets include a private pre-performance reception for the concurrent Ruth St. Denis Exhibit in the University Center Gallery (6pm-7pm) with remarks at 6:45 pm.

$70 VIP Gala tickets include the above, and a post-performance champagne/meet-the-artists reception and guided tours of the Performing Arts Center from 7pm-7:45pm.
