The annual Jefferson Street Block Party, which was held on September 7 this year, was a huge success. The day kicked off with the ever-exciting closing of the block at 1 p.m. Young riders were eager to peddle around with great speed and no cars.
Many thanks went to the Fenty family for organizing the fun-filled events. Bicycle decorating is always one of the block party highlights. Bikes are covered with streamers and parade up and down the block.
What was more exciting than the tug of-war? Great strength was shown by both teams. The young members of the block showed off their artistic talents by painting banners. Everyone grabbed a brush and let their creativity run wild.
You needed a bathing suit if you participated in the water balloon toss. It created a big splash!
The obstacle course provided a workout for young and old. Everyone used their strength to climb, pull and roll. The day ended under tents, as residents shared the news of the block and caught up with neighbors both old and new.
Erin Healy showed off her skateboarding moves.
