Resident To Be Honored
Neil Nahoum, Garden City resident and President of NMN Fabrics Group, Inc., will receive the 2008 Alvin Levine Public Service Award at The NephCure Foundation's Countdown to a Cure 2008 event on Thursday, October 30, at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows, NY. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for kidney conditions.
The evening, consisting of dinner, silent and live auctions, reception and awards presentation, will be hosted by two-time Emmy nominee, Soap Opera Digest Award winner and star of ABC's All My Children, Rebecca Budig. Former Democratic Presidential Candidate, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, will serve as the Honorary Chairperson for the second consecutive year.
Nahoum, who will be recognized for his continued support and dedication to the NephCure mission, will be joined my three other real-life heroes.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to fund research into two debilitating kidney conditions, Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Nephrotic Syndrome and FSGS are kidney function afflictions that impact men, women and children of all ages around the world, affecting mobility, requiring heavy medication and often dialysis or transplant as a last resort.
Tickets to "Countdown to a Cure" can be obtained at www.countdowntoacure.org or by calling 631 205 4306.
