Senator Kemp Hannon (R-6th S.D.) is sponsoring a forum, "How to Avoid Senior Scams," on Monday, October 20, 1-3 p.m. at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling Senator Hannon's Community Office at 516-739-1700.

Senator Hannon said, "People of all ages can be victims of fraud but the senior population can be particularly vulnerable. I encourage seniors and their family members and friends to come to this important forum offering valubale information to help safeguard yourselves against various scams."

The forum will feature representatives from the New York State Division of Human Rights, New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's Bureau of Consumer Frauds and Protection, and the New York State Consumer Protection Board.

The Plainview Old-Bethpage Public Library is located at 999 Old Country Road, Plainview.
