Garden City Retired Men's Club Calendar Of Events
The Garden City Retired Men's Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City Community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political. All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City, in the state of New York are eligible for membership upon paying a five (5) dollar initiation fee. If you are eligible and interested to join us, please come by. Every Monday is Open House. Or call Joe Leto at 248-9022. The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers 2 regulation size pool tables, television, cards/table Board games as well as outdoor Bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Our Programs Committee is planning a very active speaker program. Come join us! We meet from noon to 5 p.m.

Speaker Program October 20th Kathleen Rice We are fortunate indeed to have as our next guest speaker Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice. The date is Monday October 20th ; the time is 1 p.m. As a former Assistant United States Attorney under Attorney General Janet Reno, Kathleen Rice prosecuted cases of corporate fraud, deadbeat parents and public corruption, as well as federal drug and gun cases. Corporate fraud is one of the most discussed subjects of our time. you cannot afford to miss this!!!
Chess Will Be An Option We're on our way to a chess program. Opening day will be Tuesday October 7th at 12:30 - 1 p.m. Interested? Just show up. If you have an old chess set/board, bring it along. A short brush-up course by Walter Tomitz and off we'll go. If you are interested, please call Walter Tomitz at 354-0519 or Joe Leto at 248-9022 to register.
Calling All Poker Players If you have an interest to spend a pleasant afternoon with a congenial bunch of poker players we have a game waiting for you. A few of our newer members are anxious to start a friendly game. The poker table will be set up on Monday for your playing pleasure. Come in and give it a go. Bowling Program Is Underway Bowling every Friday, 1 p.m. at Herrill Lanes. Ron Zwicke will be waiting. Call Ron at 747-6842.
Bocce Courts Are Ready, Shuffleboard Lanes Have Been Striped And Are Ready For You We have 7 teams signed up for Bocce. The schedule ha been posted and competition is set to go. While the weather is still pleasant, get your partner, throw a few practice balls and let the game begin...
