Bridge Fundraiser A Success

On Tuesday, September 16, the Garden City Retired Educators Association held a very successful bridge/fundraiser at Westbury Manor. Fourteen tables of bridge were in play and many Garden City residents came to support the Melinda Bengels Scholarship Fund. Tom Wagner and the Tom Cats performed during the social hour while guests looked at the boutique tables that showed the wares of vendors Melissa Jaeger, Barbara Manley, Catalina Mueller and Pat Schweitzer.

Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch.
A Grand Slam was made by Athena Philippides and her partner Dede Hirsch. Their prize was a beautiful basket of four bottles of wine contributed by Wheatley Hills Liquor Store. A total of $700 will be donated to the Milinda Bengels Scholarship Fund which has been established at the Long Island High School for the Arts in Syosset.
