U-12 GC Warriors Defeat Smithtown Gladiators
Defender James Walsh tracking and pressuring his opponent
The U-12 GC Warriors faced off against the Smithtown Gladiators on Sept. 20th. Although the majority of the play was in the visitors' end right from the start of the game, the Gladiators scored first when they were able to split the defense and put one in from the 18 yard line. GC continued to dominate the play with strong defense and relentless pressure on the ball. Finally, the Warriors scored the first of five unanswered goals, including a penalty shot, which was nicely converted by sweeper back, James Walsh. Connor Tariche, Kyle Bratton, Brogan Mahon and Matt Flynn were able to net the ball on nicely placed cross shots by their teammates. The defense was anchored by Conor Muldoon and Owen Fisher, who shared the goaltending duties for GC. The Warriors turned in a dominating play through clean passing and playing the ball continually up the wings. Keep up the great work Warriors!
