For the fourth time since the 2003-2004 school year, Garden City has been awarded the prestigious title of Scholar/Athlete School of Distinction from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. More ... Once again, Garden City Public Schools "Continuing Education" is offering a course on Garden City and its history. The course entitled, "The History of A.T. Stewart's Garden City," will be taught by Village Historian John Ellis Kordes. More ... Church school registration for grades Pre-K through 6th grade is currently being held at the Episcopal Cathedral of the Incarnation. Classes begin on Sunday, September 28.at 10:30 a.m. at the Mercer School located on the grounds of the Cathedral. The curriculum being used, Living the Good News, is a lectionary based curriculum. September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and, on September 19th, students at Garden City High School, only a few of whom are pictured here, participated in the "Wear Blue for the Men You Love" program to help raise awareness about the disease. More ... The week of September 8th marked the start of Garden City Nursery School's 2008-2009 academic year. New and returning students were welcomed by their teachers' smiling faces. Some children started out tentatively, while others were ready to play, but all are now adapting comfortably to the routine of the school day. More ...
