Learn How To Protect Your Identity

Money is tight enough these days without someone else spending yours, especially if you don't even know about it! To learn how to better protect yourself from someone stealing your identity, or what to do if you have already been a victim, the Nassau County Bar Association is hosting a free community education seminar on "Identity Theft: Protecting Your Name and Your Money," on Wednesday, October 22, 7-9 p.m. at the Nassau County Bar Association, 15th and West Streets, Mineola.

Top officials will inform the audience on the latest tactics to protect your identity. Speakers include New York Civil Liberties Union - Nassau Chapter President E. Christopher Murray, an attorney at Reisman Peirez & Reisman, Garden City; Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs Deputy Commissioner James W. Reed, and Economic Crimes Bureau Chief Diane Peress, Office of the Nassau County District Attorney.

"Identity Theft: Protecting Your Name and Your Money" is a free event presented by the NCBA's Community Relations and Public Education Committee. Light refreshments will be available. Reservations are requested by calling 516-747-4070, emailing ckatz@nassaubar.org, or visit the website,
