Corliss F. Whitney Members of The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead are in for a theatrical treat on Wednesday, October 8 th at 1:30 p.m. at the library when Corliss Fyfe Whitney, a former Radio City Music Hall Rockette will deliver a multi-media presentation highlighting her show biz career.

Ms. Whitney won an audition to become a Rockette in 1945 at age 17. Still spry and agile in her 80's (and still able to do a high kick and split), she will delight the audience with many anecdotes about backstage life at the showplace of the nation. Utilizing 75 slides and a 25 minute video, she will transport the audience back to the golden age of America's most famous theatre. There will also be an exhibit of memorabilia which she has collected during her long career.
