Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

Police officers McCarthy and Becket apprehended a thief carrying a knife at Locust Street and charged him with robbery 3rd degree after the 39-year-old Hempstead man had allegedly attempted to rob Nordstrom's on September 12 at 4:40 P.M... A 65-year-old Garden City man was arrested for allegedly slapping his daughter on September 20...On September 17, a female victim reported that another female had punched her driver's side door, damaging it, while she was stopped in traffic near GC Plaza. Detective Madden led an investigation, which later led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Farmingdale woman for the incident... Between September 16 and 17, a $1200 HP Laptop was taken from a Franklin Avenue office...On September 20, a 42-year-old Uniondale woman was arrested for allegedly stealing Kate Hill pants, Puma kids pants and tops, and a Jones sweatshirt at Lord and Taylor, with a total value of over $350...On September 19, a truck stop was conducted at Clinton Road, where 9 trucks were inspected with 1 truck taken out of service and 67 tickets issued...
