The first Garden City Board of Education meeting of the school year began on an upbeat note, as students and the Garden City Middle School were recognized for special achievements. Five students who won medals in the 2008 Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged were congratulated: Matthew Castellano, Michael Lynch, Philip Mamos, Grayce Nix and Colin Ripp. More ... Thanks to the keen eye and metric skills of Thomas Reina, currently a seventh-grader at Garden City Middle School, Zero Odor, LLC has changed its packaging. As part of a mathematics exercise last spring, Thomas informed the company in writing of a metric error he spotted on Zero Odor packaging.
