The U11 Garden City Cyclones team had a thrilling and successful summer. They played in the very competitive NT baseball league and finished in second place after losing an exciting, extra inning championship game. The boys enjoyed themselves as they continued to develop their baseball skills and solidify as a team. More ... The U12 GC Xtreme hosted the Bay Shore Power at St Pauls this past Saturday. Although the match was played under threatening skies and the thick humidity of "Hanna," the team was pumped up for its season opener. Throughout the summer, the Xtreme have worked diligently to prepare for the fall season. More ... Last Saturday the Garden City U12 Patriettes opened their Long Island Junior Soccer season with a game against the Port Washington Stingers. No one expected the game to go on as scheduled due to the impending storm. However, it was the Patriettes who came out like a hurricane. More ... The Garden City Athletic Association will once again offer a Field Hockey Clinic for all girls in the 4th through 8th grades. The clinic will take place on Sunday afternoons from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on the high school turf field. More ... The Garden City Girls U-11 Force team faced the Bellmore Cyclones in their opening game this season. Both teams arrived at St Pauls with the threat of Tropical Storm Hannah overhead. The game began and the Force got off to a strong start with an offense led by Katie Gillan, Annie Walsh and Caroline Kenny, who each, had at least two shots on goal. More ... Within the last week, the girls varsity soccer team lost a tough game to South Side on September 5th by a score of 3-1 but then came back with a 2-1 victory over Farmingdale on September 8th. More ... "MOMMY AND ME" YOGA PROGRAM Our new "Mommy and Me" yoga program is open to children ages 3 to 5 years old who live in the Inc. Village of Garden City, and their parent/caregiver. Our pool opened its 52nd season to beautiful, warm weather which continued throughout our summer months.
