Stewart Quest Students Qualify For Prestigious Program
Stewart School fifth graders, Tim Foxen and Emily King, were selected to participate in The Institute for Creative Problem Solving. Each year the Institute selects 20 gifted and talented students from Nassau and Suffolk Counties to participate in each of three sections. The sessions, held on Saturday mornings, are designed to stimulate and challenge the minds of the children. The participants will broaden their backgrounds in mathematics, sharpen their thinking skills, and develop their problem solving ability. Educating these children will make a major contribution to the pursuit of excellence in science and mathematics. Each of the students who participate in the Institute will be officially designated as a "Long Island Young Scholar of Mathematics" and will be awarded a certificate of accomplishment.
