Congratulations to Mrs. Michele DeCollibus (front row, fourth from right), Garden City High School social studies teacher, who was selected as one of eighteen teachers from across the nation to participate in a World Affairs Councils of America workshop in Washington, D.C. focused on the subject of Persian Culture and history. This exclusive workshop, held from July 8-11, gave the teachers the opportunity to meet with State Department and World Bank officials, academics, and other Persian experts in an intimate setting to gain a comprehensive understanding of Persia's politics and culture. The lectures centered on many diverse subjects including "Culture, Politics and Globalization in Contemporary Iran", children in Iran, and Persian literature.
