I.A.C.E Italian Language Program in Eleventh Year
Debbie G. Fusco-Gerek In 1998 Garden City resident, Debbie G. Fusco-Gerek, shown at Hofstra Italian fair, founded an Italian I.A.C.E. program (Italian American Committee on Education) now in its eleventh year. She is liaison between the Italian government based in Rome and St. Brigid ~ Our Lady of Hope Regional School, in Westbury, where classes are held.
Italian language and culture classes will be taught to children ages 4-18 and adults, on Thursdays starting September 18, 2008 and ending in May 2009 in the afternoon (4:00-6:00 PM). Adult Beg. /Inter./Adv. classes will be available at same time.
The Office of the Consulate General of Italy provides major funding for this program. Yearly class costs for children are $360 and $340 for each additional child. Cost for adult class is $455.
As Coordinator, Mrs. Fusco-Gerek's goal is to have the best Italian teachers for the students and she is in constant search. If you know someone who may be interested please call her.
