The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City invites the communities of Garden City and Westbury to join its members at Octoberfest, the church's annual picnic on October 5. The fun will kick off at 12:30 PM and last until 4 PM in rain or shine.

The picnic will be held on Resurrection's Great Lawn, located on the Emmet Street side of the church. DJ Wayne Balling will be there to set the mood with celebratory German music.

Activities include family-friendly fun such as a jumping castle, German games, face painting and the congregation's annual touch football game. All are invited to participate in an Apple Dessert Bake-Off with their homemade entries.
