Estates POA To Discuss AvalonBay
The Board of Directors of the Estates POA of Garden City has invited Avalon Bay to come to its first fall meeting, on September 17, to discuss its proposal.
The Board determined to move its regularly scheduled meeting from September 10th to the 17th to accommodate residents who wished to attend Avalon Bay forums and also attend the Estates POA meeting. Estates' POA meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month. According to Estates' POA President, Brian Daughney, "the POA members would like the opportunity to attend our POA meeting and have the chance to discuss with Avalon Bay the merits of their proposal for development of St. Paul's main building. We wanted to avoid the conflict of meeting dates, since Avalon Bay is holding public forums on September 10th, and our POA members would have had to choose which meeting to attend. Plus, the moving of our meeting to September 17th gives POA members a chance to attend on of the public forums and then come to our POA meeting with follow up questions for Avalon Bay." Mr. Daughney also stated that the meeting is open to all residents of the Estates section, but he encouraged residents to become members of the Estates POA for the $10.00 per household fee, and that membership forms will be available at the September 17th meeting. Mr. Daughney also stated that "the Village Trustees have requested that the 4 POAs take a poll or vote on the current proposals regarding St. Paul's as outlined in the Mayor's Committee Report on St. Paul's. Although the 4 POAs in the Village are working to structure the format and nature of the "poll", and have tentatively scheduled the poll to be held on Tuesday, October 7th, we want our residents to have as much information as possible prior to the poll."
The newly scheduled meeting will be held at 8:00 p.m. at the Stratford School Auditorium.
