An important new lecture series for parents, sponsored by the Children's Department, will begin this September at the Garden City Public Library. On Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 7:30 PM, Parents for Megan's Law will present "Apple of my Eye I" - A Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Program. The program, which will provide tips on how parents and caregivers can protect children against sexual abuse, was developed by Laura A. Ahearn, Executive Director of Parents for Megan's Law and the Crime Victims Center.

Although the program is sponsored by the Library's Children's Department, this special program is open to all Garden City parents, regardless of the ages of their children. Tickets are required and will be distributed starting September 13 at 9:00 AM in the Children's Room. This program is open to Garden City residents only.
