Tommy Ilardi and Joseph Levano ready to start the trip. Not even the torrential downpour and driving rains could keep the hearty scouts of St. Joseph's Church Troop 243 away from the hallowed grounds of Gettysburg. The Boy Scouts and some of the accompanying cub and girl scouts were treated to a "backstage" tour given by Brother Lawrence of Chaminade High School. They toured the cemetery, charged a battle hill and given a birds-eye view of the awe inspiring battle grounds. A huge Boy Scout thank you to Brother Lawrence and the Umlands for organizing and leading the fantastic trip. To become a Boy Scout, please contact Mark Gamber at 747-3535.
