"Artmosphere" will round out a fabulous summer as this unique display, a first for The Artists Group, comes to the stage at Tilles Center on Sept. 4, 5, 6 and 7 at 8 p.m.. Tickets are $30 each and call the Tilles Center Box office at 299-3100. A living piece of art, this exciting project involves dance, music, visual artists and performance poetry combined with state of the art lighting and multi media technology. The audience will be able to feel the air as the dancers whiz right by them, as they too will share the stage at Tilles Center with the performers. On August 26, someone broke the window on a car parked at Stewart School and took a $250 Tom Tom GPS, an $100 Nikon digital camera, and $200 in CD's from the car after damaging the glove compartment at $250...On August 25, Detectives Madden and Wedra arrested a 23-year-old Jamaica, Queens man in connection with 5 larcenies that occurred at the T Mobile, Old Country Road, Garden City from December 2007 to February of this year... PO Florio arrested a 19-year-old Garden City female for alleged DWI (.12%) after she drove her car westbound on Roxbury Road, allegedly at 52 in a 30-mph zone, with no tail lights on...On August 19, Detectives Madden and Rothermel arrested a 19-year-old Staley North Carolina male for the theft of a watch and bracelet valued at $1400 while he was living at an Adams Street residence...A 40-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested for the larceny of $156 in clothing at Pay/half on August 19... PO K. Wehr stopped a 33-year-old West Hempstead man for falling asleep at the wheel of his car on August 23 at 4:55 am. The motorist was charged with alleged DWI (.11%) and for the failure to stop at proper signals...Between August 22 and 23, someone punctured and slashed tires to a Honda parked at Franklin Court...A fairy statue and the statue of a little boy carrying a fruit basket were stolen from a Washington Avenue residence between August 18 and 19. Value was $300 each... Between August 20 and 21, someone punctured tires on a Honda parked at Russell Road. Value was $500... Police caught 7 youths drinking beer at the LIRR right-of-way at Edgemere Rd. on August 20. A 17-year-old New Hyde Park male and an 18-year-old Floral Park male were charged with possession of alcohol, whereas the other 5 youths were under the age of 16 and cited as juveniles and returned to their parents..

On August 24, a portable rubber belt in a unit to vents on the ninth floor of the building caused a smoke scare at the GC Hotel...An elevator needed to be shut down at 1010 Franklin Avenue on August 25 because of an overheated motor...A molotov cocktail most likely was the cause of a trash can fire that occurred at Stratford Avenue School on August 25...On August 26, a plastic cover burned up on a heating element in a dishwasher at a Chester Avenue house...
